Get answers to common questions about The Calm & Soothe Facial (Dermalogica).
Yes. This facial is specifically formulated for sensitive and reactive skin, including mild rosacea. We'll perform a consultation and patch test, customize ingredients, and avoid triggers to ensure comfort and reduce redness during and after treatment.
Appointments are typically 60 minutes, including consultation, gentle cleansing, calming masque, and focused serums. We also offer a 30-minute express option for maintenance. Extra time can be scheduled for extended care or personalized add-ons when needed.
Breakouts are uncommon after this calming facial. In rare cases, underlying congestion may surface as the skin purges impurities. We prioritize gentle techniques and prescribe soothing aftercare to minimize reactions and support a clear, calm recovery.
We use Dermalogica's calming formulas with ingredients like aloe, colloidal oat, chamomile extracts, niacinamide, and antioxidants to reduce inflammation, strengthen the skin barrier, and soothe irritation while promoting long-term resilience.
Frequency depends on your skin's sensitivity. Many clients benefit from treatments every four to six weeks initially; some with very reactive skin choose six to eight weeks. We'll create a customized schedule based on response and homecare.
Aftercare includes gentle cleansers, fragrance-free moisturizers, and broad-spectrum SPF daily. Avoid exfoliants, retinoids, strong acids, and hot baths for 48 hours. Apply recommended calming serums and contact us if redness, irritation, or concerns persist.
